Open Enrollment, which usually takes place in November, is a time during which employees and retirees can make changes to their benefit plans.
Usually, during Open Enrollment you can:
- change to a different medical Plan
- change to a different dental plan (California residents only)
- opt out of medical, dental, and/or vision coverage or cancel a previous opt-out request
- enroll eligible family members in your health plans
- cancel coverage for a currently enrolled family member
- enroll or re-enroll in DepCare or change or cancel your salary reduction amount (employees only)
- enroll or re-enroll in the Health Care Reimbursement Account (employees only)
- cancel your TIP participationor re-enroll if you previously canceled (employees only)
Keep in mind that the actions that are available during Open Enrollment vary from year to year.
