Judy Boyette, Associate Vice President of Human Resources and Benefits, will be leaving the University of California at the end of September to move into private law practice as a senior partner at the law firm of Hanson, Bridgett in San Francisco, executive Vice President of Business Operations Katie Lapp announced.

In a message to UC Office of the President employees, Lapp wrote: “For the past 11 years, Judy has led the human resources function at the Office of the President, with responsibility for overseeing the University’s retirement and benefit programs, collective bargaining process, and other employment matters. Judy would be the first to say that her job has presented her with many rewarding and challenging opportunities, all of which she has met with hard work, diligence and care. We will all miss her compassion for the people who work at the University of California, her skillful attention to many of the most pressing issues facing the University, and the good humor she brought to every endeavor she undertook, no matter how challenging. We wish her the very best of luck as she moves into private law practice. “

Pending Regental approval, John Cammidge has agreed to serve as Acting Associate Vice President while a search is undertaken for a replacement. Cammidge, who is currently serving as a special assistant to Boyette, has held a number of executive-level human resources positions, including Executive Director of Human Resources at Stanford University and Executive Vice President for Human Resources policies and programs at Bank of America. He began his career in labor relations at Ford Motor Company – Europe.
