Annuitant Open Enrollment packets were mailed in late October. Unfortunately, there was some incorrect information about the Kaiser/Senior Advantage service area for the year 2000.
Please be assured that all annuitants who live in California and are enrolled in Kaiser in 1999 may continue their coverage for the year 2000. Unless you make an Open Enrollment change, your Kaiser coverage will continue automatically. (There are a few exceptions to this—all of whom have been notified in a separate letter from Kaiser and/or from UC.)
On the California Medical Plan Summary for Medicare Enrollees, please note that in addition to the counties listed in the chart, the Kaiser/Senior Advantage service area includes the following counties:
- All of Orange;
- All of Los Angeles except ZIP codes 90704 and 93599; and
- Parts of Kern, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego, and Ventura counties.
In addition, the Kaiser/Senior Advantage service area does not include Humboldt County.
