Recently, a number of University locations have reported that employees have received email or telephone solicitations for the purchase of retirement annuities and related 403(b) plan transactions from outside vendors that the University neither sponsors nor endorses, and with whom UC has no association. Email subject lines such as "Retirement Bonus for UC Faculty" and "Understanding Your UC Retirement Plan" have been used in these solicitations, giving the impression that the communication is from a UC entity or from an entity endorsed by the University.

We urge you to be cautious about any such communications that you may receive, and to call your Benefits Office if you do receive any. Your Benefits Office can confirm whether such solicitors are affiliated with the University. UC is associated with and endorses only a very small and select number of external vendors that provide voluntary plans to UC employees.
