The UCRS Semi-Annual Account Statements for the six-month period ending June 30, 2002, are currently being mailed to all active and inactive UC Plan participants. Included with the personalized statement is the newsletter, "News for Your Benefit," which contains investment news and performance information about the UC-managed funds.

Unfortunately, there is a typographical error regarding the one-year annualized rate of return for the SandP 500 index benchmark-in the newsletter (on page 3), it's reported as 18.0%; the correct rate of return for this index is -18.0%.
