Class Concepts
Under close supervision of Respiratory Therapists, incumbents perform respiratory therapy services in a training capacity typically involving classroom instruction; and perform other related duties as required.
This class is used for the second year of a two-year training program approved by the Joint Review Committee of Education in Respiratory Therapy which qualifies the incumbent to perform operational level respiratory therapy duties on completion of the program. The program includes classroom instruction, homework assignments, periodic assignments, and a prescribed plan of on-the-job training designed to familiarize the incumbent with performance of the broad range of respiratory therapy functions and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
The successful completion of the first year of an approved training program; and knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.
