The University met with UPTE for continued negotiations on a successor contract for Research Support Professional Employees and Technical Employees on July 21-25 in Santa Barbara.
During the week long session the Union continued its presentation of initial proposals. UC and UPTE have met a total of 18 times since March 2008, during which time the Union has presented its initial proposals on about 18 of 47 articles which have been opened for bargaining. The University will present its proposals at the conclusion of the Union's presentation.
The next bargaining dates are scheduled for August 6-8 in San Francisco. The University looks forward to continued good faith bargaining with the Union as the parties work together to make progress through the negotiation process in order to reach timely agreement on a new contract for RX and TX employees.
