Some activities are expected prior to the beginning of the academic term as defined in the academic calendar, (e.g. development of syllabi, book orders, selection of Teaching Assistants) or following the end of the term (e.g. submission of grades). Activities which require a significant commitment of time outside of the term, i.e. all day meetings, may require additional compensation unless the duties have already been calculated as part of the assigned workload. Departments are encouraged to schedule meetings within the academic term. To the extent possible meetings should be held during the service period.
