Helpful Hint: There are two sets of dates—one for the actual service period of the appointment and one for the pay period of the appointment. For example, an NSF may be appointed for an entire academic year, July 1 through June 30, for purposes of pay and benefits, but the service period will be the actual dates of the quarters or semesters as defined in campus academic calendars.
