CLARIFICATION: Individual grievants do not have the right to appeal their grievance to arbitration. Only the UC-AFT, acting in its capacity as exclusive representative, can pursue appeals to arbitration. In addition, only the UC-AFT or its designee may settle grievances once they have been appealed to arbitration.
