Clarification: The size of enrollment may be taken into account when establishing a workload value either on a temporary or permanent basis. For example, if Economics 100 has an established IWC of one (1), the department may increase the IWC for Economics 100 in a given quarter/semester to accommodate the additional workload for the NSF resulting from an unanticipated increase in student enrollment. Helpful Hint: Departments should look at potential enrollments prior to the beginning of the term.
