Helpful Hint: The letter of resignation should be submitted to the Department Office. If the NSF is appointed in more than one department, the NSF should submit a copy to each department where the NSF has an appointment. The NSF should contact the department academic personnel administrator for information about transition of benefits and disposition of final earnings, if any. All keys, files and other University property should be returned to the department office at the time of resignation unless the NSF makes alternative arrangements with the department office. Upon the effective date of the resignation, the department will de-activate University e-mail accounts, library access, telephones, and other University resources related to employment unless the NSF makes specific alternate arrangements with the department office. The NSF must contact the Parking Department to cancel a parking pass and related deductions. The NSF’s W-2 statement will be sent to the NSF at the last address provided by the NSF to the campus payroll office. It is important for the NSF to provide the payroll office with current home address information until the final W-2 statement is issued in January of the following calendar year.
