The University and CUE continue to negotiate over a successor contract. The parties are utilizing interest-based bargaining principles (often referred to as mutual gains or collaborative bargaining) and the tenor of the negotiations has been quite positive. The University and CUE have reached tentative agreement on several articles, including Training and Development, Uniforms, and Non-Discrimination. In addition, CUE agreed to the 2009 open enrollment changes to health and welfare benefits and to have their members eligible to participate in Staywell for the 2009 calendar year. The next negotiation session is scheduled for April 22-24.
