The purpose of this page is to answer some commonly asked questions and to inform employees, supervisors, managers, and the general public on labor relations matters pertaining to the University of California system, including the status of collective bargaining, the status of representation elections, University policies and proposed University policy changes and other issues of interest.
The United Auto Workers represents the 8,300 academic student employees at eight University of California campuses. A new systemwide agreement covering the BX unit was reached in December 2003.
