The University of California employs approximately 7,000 service workers who provide vital custodial, transportation and related basic support services at all UC campuses and medical centers. The systemwide unit is represented by the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME).
Service employees work in various departments from housing and dining services to laboratories and mail rooms, providing essential services for the University.
