UC offers three benefits packages—Full, Mid-level and Core. Your eligibility for a particular package depends on the type of job you have, the percentage of time you work and the length of your appointment.  Select from the links below to see the initial eligibility requirements and the benefits offered for each package.

Continuing Eligibility Requirements
To remain eligible for benefits, you must maintain an average regular paid time  (excluding bonuses and overtime) of at least 17.5 hours per week and remain in an eligible appointment.

If your average regular paid time drops below 17.5 hours a week, you become ineligible for

  • Medical
  • Dental
  • Vision
  • Basic and core life insurance
  • Short-term and supplemental disability

If your earnings cover the required premiums, you may still be eligible for:

  • Supplemental life insurance
  • AD&D
  • Health and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts
  • Legal
  • Auto and homeowner/renter insurance
  • Selectplus family care benefit

Eligible Family Members

Your family members may also be eligible for coverage.

Verifying Family Member Eligibility for Benefits

To meet health plan contract obligations and to control health care costs, UC performs periodic reviews of family members’ eligibility for enrollment in UC benefits plans.

If UC finds that you have enrolled individuals who are not eligible for coverage, those individuals will be permanently de-enrolled and you and your eligible family members may lose coverage for up to 12 months.
