The University of California is pleased to offer a vision plan option for retirees and their eligible family members effective July 1, 2008. Benefits will be provided by Vision Service Plan (VSP) and the coverage and benefits will be the same as the active employee plan.
Participation in the retiree plan is voluntary and monthly premiums will be paid entirely by the retiree at a group rate. UC has negotiated competitive rates with VSP, the vision care company serving the University’s faculty and staff for more than 20 years. The premiums for 2008 are:

Retiree only:    $35.64  $142.56
Retiree plus adult: $67.35 $269.40
Retiree plus children: $67.98 $271.92
Retiree, adult and children: $83.22   $332.88
