Systemwide Organizational Effectiveness User Guide Now Available
In April 2010, the Human Resources department, Office of the President, completed a competitive bid process (RFP) for consulting services to cover organizational effectiveness and staff development activities. Twenty vendors were approved for systemwide contracts. These master Professional Service Agreements (PSA's) can be used for projects when the University does not have adequate internal resources. This number of firms allows the University to obtain a full range of services, provide local coverage for all campuses, establish pricing alternatives for similar services, and avoid capacity limitations caused by the relatively small size of most of the firms.

E-Verify Process Now Required for Some Employees
As a federal contractor, UC is required to E-Verify the work status of (a) new hires assigned to a covered federal contract/subcontract and (b) existing employees hired after November 6, 1986 who are assigned to a covered federal contract/subcontract (including employees who may be assigned to such a contract/subcontract as the result of a transfer), unless one of several very narrow exceptions applies to a particular employee. Because it is an institution of higher education, the University is not required to E-Verify the work status for all new hires; rather, it is only required to do so for new hires assigned to a covered federal contract/subcontract.
