[February 5, 2001]

In March, active University of California Retirement Plan (UCRP) members who are not members of the Academic Senate will elect a member to the University of California Retirement System (UCRS) Advisory Board. The UCRS Advisory Board develops ideas or new approaches to the provisions of UCRS benefits and communicates them to the President of the University.

Once again, this year's UCRS Advisory Board election will be conducted by telephone. Votes will be cast and tabulated by means of an automated telephone system.

Seven candidates have been nominated, each by petition of at least 50 active non-Academic Senate UCRP members. The candidates are: Susan B. Angstadt, LLNL; Anne C. Fink, UCI; Jessea NR Greenman, UCB; Ralph E. Howard, LLNL; Danny C. Kim, UCR; Darda J. Swanson, UCB; and Dianne H. Walker, UCB.

Election materials, including candidate statements and step-by-step instructions for voting by telephone, will be mailed at the end of February. Any eligible UCRP member who has not received these election materials by March 10, 2001, should call UC HR/Benefits UC Customer Service Center: 1-800-888-8267.
