UC’s Short-term and Supplemental Disability plans allow you to stay at work or return to work on a part-time basis while still receiving partial disability benefits. For more information, see the Partial Disabililty: Stay at Work/Return to Work Factsheet [PDF]. In addition, keep your supervisor updated about your ability to work. Often, arrangements can be made to ease you back into work, if your doctor agrees and your department can offer modified work. Most UC locations have Rehabilitation Counselors or Disability management staff who can assist you with your return to work, especially in cases where modifications to your job might be necessary.
